What is Fluido?

Fluido is a Figma community plugin that applies liquid metal, chrome and fluid shader effects to vector shapes, typography and frames without leaving the canvas. Selecting a layer and launching the plugin applies a fluid shader, and sliders for refraction, contour and softness let you tune the result. It was built by Ihor Boldirev to replace stock-image hunting or hours of work in 3D software such as Blender. It is aimed at producing the trending liquid chrome look for social headers, hero sections and brand assets.

Key Features

One-click application

Apply a liquid metal or chrome shader to a selected layer in a single click.

Works on multiple layer types

Runs on vector shapes, text layers and frames rather than just images.

Refraction control

A slider adjusts how light bends through the fluid effect for a more or less glassy look.

Contour control

A slider shapes the edges and definition of the liquid metal surface.

Softness control

A slider sets how soft or sharp the fluid transitions appear.

Chrome and lava styles

Supports liquid metal, chrome and lava style treatments with chromatic aberration and metallic texture.

Native Figma integration

Runs entirely inside Figma so results stay on the canvas with no external tool needed.

Pros & Cons

Advantages

  • It is free to use through the Figma community, so there is no cost barrier to trying it.
  • It runs directly inside Figma, so designers do not need to switch to 3D software or hunt for stock images.
  • It works on text and frames as well as shapes, which makes it suitable for headers and brand assets.
  • The refraction, contour and softness sliders give control over the final look rather than a single fixed preset.
  • Reviewers describe it as feeling native to Figma rather than a bolted-on plugin.

Limitations

  • It is a Figma-only plugin, so it is not usable outside the Figma ecosystem.
  • It focuses on liquid metal and chrome aesthetics, so it is a narrow stylistic tool rather than a general design utility.
  • It is a recently launched community plugin, so long-term support and update cadence are not yet established.
  • There is no separate product website or documentation hub beyond the Figma community listing.

Use Cases

Designers creating liquid chrome social media headers and post graphics inside Figma.

Brand designers producing metallic logo treatments and brand assets without 3D software.

UI designers adding chrome or liquid metal hero section backgrounds to web mockups.

Typographers turning text layers into liquid metal lettering for posters and covers.

Designers who want the trending liquid chrome look without learning Blender or other 3D tools.
