What is Sly.fish?

Swai fish, known scientifically as Pangasianodon hypophthalmus, is a type of freshwater catfish native to the Mekong River in Southeast Asia. It is a commonly farmed fish, available under various names like Vietnamese catfish, basa fish, and iridescent shark. Though it is called a shark, swai is not related to sharks. With its mild flavor and flaky texture, swai is a popular and affordable substitute for more expensive fish. Nutritionally, it offers a lean source of protein and is high in selenium, but low in omega-3 fatty acids compared to other fish. There are concerns about mislabeling and the environmental impact of farming practices in Vietnam.
